Middle school boys split with Thunderbirds

On Jan. 18, the Western Plains Junior High Bobcat Boys hosted the Quiviria Heights Thunderbirds in Bazine.

The A-Team Bobcats lost, 40-30.

Eighth grader Dray Carson led the Cats in scoring, putting 17 of the total points by himself.

Eighth graders Juan Mendez and Blake Huxman rounded out the scoring. Huxman had nine, and Mendez had four.

In B-Team action, the Bobcats earned a win.

They beat Quiviria Heights, 35-21.

For this match, more Bobcats got in on the scoring.

Seventh grader Joseph Bonelli had a team-high 16 points. Sixth grader Daniel Hair was close on Bonelli’s heels with 15 points.

Eighth grader Austin Schwindt and seventh grader Dakota Banes each contributed two points.
