Today the Class 1A Regional Tournament for Region No. 9 kicks off. It is being hosted by Otis-Bison High School in Hoisington. Opening round games are held at the higher seeded school’s court.
The No. 6-ranked Western Plains High School Bobcat Boys play at 6 p.m. today in Sylvan Grove against the No. 3-ranked Sylvan Unified High School Mustangs.
A win tonight would have the Bobcats playing Thursday in a rematch against the No. 2-ranked Otis-Bison Cougars, who had a bye in the opening round, in Hoisington’s Activity Center. Another win would then put them in the championship match on Saturday in Hoisington.
The No. 5-ranked Lady Bobcats take the floor Tuesday against the No. 4-ranked Lady Eagles of Ness City High School. The game will start at 7 p.m. in Ness City.
A win Tuesday would have the Lady Cats playing the No. 1-ranked team, Lucas-Luray, Friday. Lucas-Luray has a bye in the opening round. A win over Lucas-Luray would put the Cats in Saturday’s championship match.
Going into the regional tournament, the Lady Bobcats had a record of 2-18 and the Bobcat Boys had a record of 0-20.
